Before You Submit Your Documents

To ensure your documents are accepted by the Embassy of Malaysia, please make sure the following requirements are met:

  • All seals and signatures must be original.

  • Dates on all certifications must follow chronological order.

  • Any document written in a foreign language must include a certified English translation, notarized and properly certified.


Document Requirements for Malaysia Authentication

1. State and Local Documents

Examples:
Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Death Certificate, Divorce Decree, Probate Will, Judgment

Requirements:

  • Must be the original certified document with a raised or stamped seal from the issuing court or vital records department.

  • Certified by the Secretary of State from the same state in which the document was issued.

  • The Secretary of State must certify the signature of the issuing official under the State Seal.


2. Federally Issued Documents

Examples:
FBI Background Checks, USDA Animal/Plant Certificates, U.S. Federal Court Documents, Immigration Certifications, Certificates of Pharmaceutical Export, and more.

Requirements:

  • Must be issued and signed by a U.S. Federal Agency (e.g., DOJ, USDA, DHS, HHS).

  • Include the original stamped or raised seal of the agency.


3. Documents from the District of Columbia Courts

Examples:
Marriage Certificates issued by the D.C. Superior Court

Requirements:

  • Must bear the original official signature and raised seal of the D.C. Court.


4. General / Personal Documents

Examples:
Affidavits, Agreements, Power of Attorney, Commercial Invoices, Diplomas, Transcripts, Articles of Incorporation, Passport Copies, Single Status Certificates, and other business or personal documents.

Requirements:

  • Must be notarized by a licensed Notary Public.

  • Certified by the Clerk of Court from the county where the notary is commissioned.

  • Certified by the Secretary of State from the same state.

  • If issued in Washington, D.C., certification must come from the D.C. Secretary of State Notarial Section.
